One app, two sides, every section
BookThing brings the customer and the business together in one app. Each card below covers a section of the app — from how a booking request gets approved to how a ticket closes, from the calendar to the reports. Tap a card to see how that section works.
Appointments
A customer sends a booking request; the business approves or declines it. Capacity and availability are re-checked on the server at every step, so two customers can't both end up confirmed into the same slot.
Booking
A customer picks what they want from a business's services, an open time slot, and — if they like — a preferred staff member, then sends the request; it only becomes final once the business approves it.
Calendar
The business sees the same schedule on the phone and in the web panel: an hour-by-hour day view, and a month view for the bigger picture.
Tickets
A ticket opens from an approved appointment or as a walk-in with no appointment behind it, gets its service lines, and closes. Even a closed ticket can still be corrected — every edit is kept on record.
Orders & Shipping
A business keeps a categorised product catalogue and features some of it in a showcase strip on its profile; a customer taps a product and previews its name, price and stock status. Online ordering is not open to customers yet.
Reports
A business opens its reports on the phone or in the web panel and gets the same figures either way — appointment counts, revenue, and ratings for a period, computed once on the server and read by both.
Staff
Staff in BookThing are entries on the business's roster, not separate accounts. Only the owner signs in; a staff member is a name, a photo, the services they perform, and a schedule — assigned to appointments and tracked on reports.
Messaging
A customer can message a business straight from its profile or from one of their appointments; the business replies from the app or the panel, and both sides are reading the same thread.
QR & Sharing
Every published business gets its own link — https://bookthing-dev-e583c.web.app/c/<companyId> — that opens straight to its profile in the app, or to a store page if the app isn't installed yet. The share hub turns that one link into a QR code, a poster, and a card.
Services
Every service a business offers is listed here, with its duration, capacity, price and, where set, an image. The list reads the same data on the phone and on the web panel — neither is an incomplete copy of the other.
Business Management
The same account can open more than one business; each is managed separately, with its own profile, its own switches and its own daily overview. Switching between businesses, setting up a new profile, or checking on a business right now all sit in the same layer.
Sign-In & Security
The app is opened with email and password, a Google account, or (on iOS) an Apple account. The web panel's intended way in is not a password: it opens against a single-use code generated in the app. Creating a new account, resetting a forgotten password and verifying an email all live in the same layer.
Profile & Account
Your display name and phone number are edited here, the interface language is changed here, business owners generate the single-use code they use to sign into the panel here, and an active booking restriction, if any, shows here with its reason and end date. Permanently closing the account lives in the same layer.
Discover
The screens a customer sees first when they open the app live here: finding a business by search and city filter, reading a business's profile, browsing its featured products, and moving on to the booking form. All four are mobile-only, because this is a journey the customer lives on their own device.
Favourites and Reviews
A customer taps a heart to add a business to favourites and comes back to it here; after a past appointment that's approved or completed, they also leave that business a rating and a comment. Every review a business has received reads from the same single card, on the phone and in the panel.
My Orders
This section brings together a customer's own order history and their saved delivery addresses. Online ordering isn't open to customers today, so the order list is empty on every account right now; the address book works independently of that and is usable today.
