Keep the catalogue, feature it on the profile

A business keeps a categorised product catalogue and features some of it in a showcase strip on its profile; a customer taps a product and previews its name, price and stock status. Online ordering is not open to customers yet.

Categorised catalogue

Products are grouped into categories; a category still holding products can't be deleted.

Showcase

Products featured on the business profile show up in a showcase strip — and the strip doesn't appear at all until something is actually featured.

Product preview

A customer taps a product in the showcase or the full catalogue and sees its name, price and stock status.

Shipping and order settings

Shipping fees, a minimum order total, and a per-line quantity cap are all set from the same settings, on the phone or in the panel.

Ownership is re-checked on every write

Only the user matching the owner field on the business document can create, update or delete a product, a category, or the shipping and order settings; the server rule checks this separately on every single write.

An unpublished business's catalogue stays private

Until a business is published, only its owner can read its products, categories and shipping settings; once published, any signed-in user can read them.
